Monday Notes: Trappings of Winter, Can We Feed Ourselves? A Mining Tragedy, Open Heart Surgery On Your Computer, and A Winning Goal

by Scott Hall

Tuesday morning, at 8:10, trapper and wildlife biologist, Perry Loeggering, talks about the winter trapping season. This subject often draws more calls and letters from disapproving listeners than any other wildlife topic.

On the local food scene, North Shore grower, David Abbas, talks to Maggie this Wednesday morning at 7:20 about his farm; and a study he's working that looks into the food production potential for northeast MN and NW Wisconsin. Also on Wednesday morning, Iron Range historian, Pam Brunfeld, tells us about the Milford Mine disaster which happened on the Cayuna Range 76 years ago this week.

Digital Mayhem: The IT Guys - Chad, Dan, and David "MAC"donald (right) - answer your questions about computers this Thursday morning at 8:10.

Fine picture of Iron Range hockey star, Emily Erickson, now carrying the puck for BSU. This picture was on the front page of the BSU athletics web page. Emily got the only goal in a recent 1-0 win over Ohio State. The Beavers are in 4th place in the WCHA.

My daughter, Adele, and Twins Centerfielder, Denard Span, talked hitting last Friday night at TwinsFest.
